The Soldotna Library Friends is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing funding for library programs and enhancements at the Soldotna Public Library.

We encourage participation and support in the planning, development and growth of this unique and valuable community resource.

Latest news:

  • New Book Shelves - Our basement bookstore has new bookshelves in the children's area and across the back wall. These were built by one of our amazing volunteers. 
  • Sew Fun at the Library - Our sewing program has an official name. We have purchased 6 sewing machines for classes and 1 for checkout. You can do your own mending at home. Stay tuned in as this program moves forward.


Recent programs funded:

  • Watch for the 2023 Summer Reading Program whose theme is "All Together Now" - promoting kindness, friendship, and unity. The reading program is for children AND adults.
  • We received a special donation in January 2023 to support banned books 
  • Story Walk at Parker Park - funded in 2022
  • One Thousand Books Before Kindergarten - funded annually
  • Mobile hotspots that provide remote connectivity - funded through June 2023
  • Special donations were received during 2022 to purchase:
    • Books about Alaska
    • Books for children and youth which support diversity and tolerance
    • Large Print books
