The Soldotna Library Friends is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing funding for library programs and enhancements at the Soldotna Public Library.

We encourage participation and support in the planning, development and growth of this unique and valuable community resource.

Latest news:

  • New Book Shelves - Our basement bookstore has new bookshelves in the children's area and across the back wall. These were built by one of our amazing volunteers. 
  • Sew Fun at the Library - Our sewing program has an official name. We are in the processes of purchasing 6 sewing machines for classes and 1 for checkout. You can do your own mending at home. Stay tuned in as this program moves forward.


Recent programs funded:

  • Summer Reading Program for 2022 including squid dissection with the Alaska Sealife Center
  • Story Walk at Parker Park
  • One Thousand Books Before Kindergarten
  • Mobile hotspots that provide remote connectivity
  • Special donations were received to purchase:
    • Books about Alaska
    • Books for children and youth which support diversity and tolerance
    • Large Print books
