Latest news:

  • New Board Members - We are happy to announce two new board members: Locally born and raised ANNIE GARDNER and Kenai Peninsula pioneer ARLENE TACHICK. Welcome to the TEAM.
  • Expired Terms - Mary Lou Wilcox and Vicki Johnston-Freese are no longer board members as their terms have expired. Both have served since 2014/2015 - members can serve up to three 3-year terms consecutively. Their service to this organization and to the library has been invaluable. Fortunately, Vicki will continue to manage the Basement Book Sale Room. This involves receiving donations from the public, coordinating the volunteers who shelve them, and managing the monthly book sales. Mary Lou has offered to continue designing our monthly book sale flyers that are always filled with cleaver puns.
  • Holiday Book/Bake/Art Sale was a great success:  Over 200 people did their holiday shopping with us. A special thank you to the 12 volunteer bakers, Brian and Staff from Frame and Things  (loan of easels and repair of artwork), Michelle Blackwell and Kim McMilin for posting pictures of the ART on social media, and Ed Erickson for the fabulous wine cork Alaskan Caches and Bird Houses.
  • Through Pick.Click.Give., over 40 individuals contributed between $25 and $250 of their PFD, resulting in more than $2,000 in donations for 2025. Thank you! All donations are used to provide community programs at our library.
  • 20th Anniversary Celebration was held on Saturday October 11. The Soldotna Library Friends was established in the fall of 2005 and has been supporting our local library for 20 years. We celebrated with free books, games, and cake. Our NEW CANVAS BOOK BAGS were unveiled. Three lucky people received a new book back filled with goodies.
  • View the PROCLAMATION issued by the Mayor of Soldotna recognizing the 20th anniversary of our organization.
